Carbon Committee
Information about the carbon committee
Tatham Parish Council set up a Carbon Committee to investigate and promote ways to help
- the parish to reduce its carbon footprint
- residents to reduce their energy use and home heating costs.
The Committee consists of councillors and non-councillor parish residents, and first met in February 2022.
During the following two years, the committee organised, on behalf of the parish council, a number of information events for residents, covering, amongst other topics:
- electric vehicles
- heat pumps
- reducing housing heat losses
- wind turbines
- solar thermal and solar photovoltaics
- the role of trees and peatland
The Committee is not currently active, but if you’re interested in climate change, energy, and renewables, or have wider environmental concerns, or simply think that taking steps to stop our species destroying its home is a good idea, then please contact councillor Wilson, who is always willing to discuss matters arising from the climate and biodiversity crisis.
