The role of the Parish Council is to represent the interests of the whole community.

The Parish Council has powers conferred by Parliament, and the authority to raise money by taxation (the “precept”) to pay for their use.

The council is a corporate body, a legal entity separate from its members. Its decisions and actions are the responsibility of the whole corporate body.

Each Councillor also takes a lead role on specific topics affecting the Parish and its residents, keeping the council informed about related developments and coordinating appropriate activities for the Council.
