Councillor Vacancies
Information about current vacancies, the role of a parish councillor, and how to contact the council to find out more
There are two casual vacancies for parish councillors.
The Parish Council is seeking to fill the vacancies by co-option.
To be eligible to apply for co-option, you need to be of voting age, and:
- to own or rent land in Tatham; or
- to have your main place of work within the parish; or
- to live within 3 miles of its boundary.
The Council usually holds six meetings a year and the role does not involve a very large time commitment. The activities involved are varied and rewarding and it can be a good way to learn more about the parish and its people.
If you are interested in being co-opted and would like to know more, the parish clerk and/or serving councillors will be happy to answer any questions you have about what’s involved. Or you are very welcome to come along to our next meeting as an observer.
